Facts
Longford is a popular tourist town
situated on the South Esk River just 26 kms from Launceston. Once
the location for the Australian Grand Prix on a 4.5 mile open road
circuit, the town now draws visitors to see its historic buildings
including nearby Woolmers, the location of the National Rose Garden.
First settled in 1807 the district became well known for producing
fine wool.
