Facts
Originally a whaling
port, St Helens situated on the picturesque Georges Bay has grown
to one of Tasmania's premier holiday towns. Fishing is still
of major importance but tourism has always been of significance
with a wide range of accommodation here and at nearby Scamander offering
easy access to fine beaches and extensive sand dunes, excellent
fishing areas and exploring the old tin mining areas and their
history.
